Frequently Asked Questions

How much will it cost?

Prices start at around £60 for a single, simple piece. For this price you’ll receive individual files containing the unprocessed drums (between 5 and 13 files depending on what has been recorded).

There are also options for fully mixed and processed drum parts, or even a fully mixed track if that’s what you want.

If you send me a few details (using the form on this site, or just call/email) I can give a ballpark figure. Obviously it depends on how many tracks, what style of music, how complex the part is etc etc.

How will I receive the finished product?

It depends on what you want and what you send in the first instance. At the very least you’ll receive a stereo mix of your track and the drums, plus a stereo mix of drums only.

How long will it take?

After we’ve agreed a date, you’ll get the first draft by the end of that day.

What if I don't like it?

I wouldn’t expect you to just accept the first take I send back. Usually we’ll go back and forth until we’re both happy with the end result.

Can you do programmed drums?

Yes! In fact, sometimes this might be a better fit for your requirements.

I use Steven Slate Drums, which is a world-class drum sampling module.

What is your setup?

I have endorsements with Mapex Drums and Paiste Cymbals, so most recordings will be made using top-end Mapex/Paiste gear.

I also have vintage Premier kits and a selection of different snares in case these are more appropriate for the music.

All recordings are made in my studio using industry-standard microphones, then mixed on Logic Pro with a large collection of 3rd party plugins (McDsp, Waves, Plugin Alliance etc).

Where are you based?

I’m based in the beautiful city of Bath in the UK.

How do you accept payment?

I’ll send an electronic invoice using Stripe so you can pay securely using your credit or debit card.
